Kate lets Yelena pick the movie when they shuffle into the first theater they can find, which happens to be small and vintage and ultimately adorable. She goes over the options for a small moment before excitedly beckoning to the reruns of Howl's Moving Castle, and Kate lights up with a grin at her decision. They get ridiculously cheap candy from the snack counter and scurry down the hallway.
Apparently Howl's Moving Castle had been on a list of Yelena's of things to watch because of her intermittent internet browsing, and Kate made a mental note to properly introduce her to Studio Ghibli later on.
The movie is an instant hit with Yelena, of course, who is so enthralled with the gorgeous art style and music that she doesn't even remember to touch the Reese's Pieces Kate convinced her to try. Here and there she mutters her thoughts, commenting on how sad it was that Sophie thought so little of herself, how much she adored Calcipher, how she thought that the rings were the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
Kate probably didn't pay as much attention to the movie as she should have, but to be fair, she had seen it a million times and knew most of the lines anyway. She really only had eyes for Yelena; the way her nose scrunched when she smiled, the honey curls loose around her neck, the way the deep, sticky red of her lipstick moved with her mouth when she laughed and when she cried.
By the end of the movie, Yelena looks as if she's gone through the five stages of grief. Her cheeks are flushed and the tears, both genuine and from laughing, have smudged the corner of her eye makeup, which in Kate's opinion, only enhances it. The assassin is chatting Kate's ear off, who has to admit that her energy is the most addictive drug she's ever come in contact with.
"Kate Bishop!" Yelena yells for the millionth time as soon as they're outside the theater, hands grabbing her friend's arms and almost shaking her. "That was beautiful!" She bursts into a stream of excited rapid-fire Russian, her accent so thick that Kate thinks she could wrap herself in it and snuggle down for a night of listening to Yelena talk.
Yelena suddenly squeals and throws her arms around Kate's waist, lifting the archer off of her feet and spinning her around. "Kate Bishop, thank you thank you thank you!" She presses her lips to both of Kate's cheeks in swift kisses, her laughter and smile so contagious that Kate can't help but laugh along, even though her face is burning and her stomach is doing unsanctioned flips.
"Why are you thanking me?" Kate asks, her grin so wide her cheeks start to ache. She is still in Yelena's arms, the assassins grip strong and sure and oh-so warm. "You're the one who paid for the movie, Yelena."
"Yes, but I would not have ever gone to see it without you!" Yelena lets go of Kate to place her hands over her heart with a wistful sigh, her eyes closing. "Oh, Kate Bishop, I loved it so much."
Kate's heart is thudding against her chest, but she pushes it down and takes the blonde's hand. "I'm glad," she says softly.
Yelena's lips curl up at the corners, and the snow is still falling lightly out on the cold New York streets, a few flakes sticking to her dark lashes. "Me too."
There's another moment, then. Right there, just the two of them. Yelena knows, and is less afraid than she was even three hours ago, but it is heavy in her chest and she doesn't know if she can take the weight yet.
"Time for drinks, Kate Bishop?" she says coyly, raising an eyebrow. The air is crisp and wonderful in her lungs when she takes a deep breath, and it eases the squeeze on her heart.
Kate's grin is blinding, and she nods. "Absolutely."
--------
They end up walking until they find a cozy looking bar, and Kate holds the door open for Yelena before following in behind her. They are immediately enveloped in music that is somehow both quiet and loud but I still rather pleasant, the aroma of coffee and alcohol mixing together, and the glow from several assorted colors of fairy lights strung up in just about every inch of the place.
Kate whistles lowly, taking it in on a slow circle. "How have I never been to this place before now?" she mutters, finding herself falling in love with the establishment immediately. It's all one big, open space, with the bar against the back wall, each side wall full of different booths, tables, and variously decorated seating areas, and the rest of the floor appears to be where the dancing happens.
There seems to be only about two dozen people dancing, and only a couple of them are hammered enough to be throwing limbs around and grinding on each other. The rest are either slow dancing with their respective partner or friend, or letting themselves loosen up.
Yelena's grin is feral as she takes it all in, and when her eyes light upon Kate after a moment, the glow in them intensifies. The archer swallows, knowing her face is hot but not being able to do much about it.
"Hi there, ladies!" A deep voice calls out from somewhere to their right, and a tall, friendly looking man wearing entirely black with a safety vest appears from the crowd, walking towards them. "So sorry I didn't catch you at the door, but I'm the bouncer. Can I see some ID?"
Kate smiles apologetically and nods, digging through her wallet before handing her ID over. The guy looks it over for a moment and gives it back, then turns to Yelena. "And you, ma'am?"
Yelena doesn't move, and her voice is dry. "I called ahead. Fanny Longbottom."
Kate doesn't know how she keeps herself from choking on her own spit and laughing so hard she shits herself, but the bouncer looks over a list on his phone and confirms a few numbers with Yelena before letting them know they're good to go.
Yelena looks at Kate and notices the way she's barely holding herself together, and the assassin rolls her eyes. "Don't," she says in warning, her face grave but tone light. Kate wisely keeps her mouth shut.
They make their way to a booth where they have a clear view of the bar, dance floor, and both exits; Yelena tells Kate to sit while she grabs them drinks.
The archer settles into the booth and admires the leather upholstery, which is in much better shape than you would expect from a New York bar.  The hanging light above the table is a warm orange, and Kate leans further into the cushion, looking forward to the rest of night.
That is, of course, until a figure appeared in front of the table, much too tall and masculine to be her Yelena.
"Hey there, Baby Girl."
Kate feels her stomach blanch, and she does her best to keep the anger from showing through her face as she slowly turns to face the man who spoke. He was tall and lean and had short cropped hair, and Kate could barely stop herself from kicking him between the legs.
"Connor." She grit her teeth tightly and sat up tall, not bothering to make her face look pleasant. "I hope you remember I still have a restraining order against you."
Connor laughs and dares to sit in the booth seat across from her, leaning back and folding his arms across his chest. In hindsight, Connor looks completely harmless. He's wearing a simple blue henley shirt and converse, his hair is well kept, and his smile is dorky. But his eyes hold a gleam that Kate had managed to forget, and seeing it light upon her again has her blood boiling.
"I figured since your MILF of a mommy is in prison, I might try to say hi again." He leans forward, his elbows bracing on the table as he gives a wink. "Without any money to pay the police, how are you supposed to keep a restraining order in the first place?"
Her tone is cold and sharp, and she knows he can see the fire in her eyes. The jab at Eleanor simmers in the back of her mind, and Kate pictures getting to throw him into a wall. "I'm still rich as hell, Connor, and I have more money than you'll ever make in a lifetime. Leave before I call my security in and get you arrested." Kate didn't have official security, but she knew Yelena could chop this man into pieces without breaking a sweat.
For a moment, he looks enraged at the comment on his financial situation, but Connor only laughs, and his lips twist into a cruel smirk. "Girly, we both know you don't have security." He's staring into her, gaze challenging and rotted, like he's trying to tear down her defenses and scare her into submission.
"Leave," she hisses, body shaking with the anger she wants to hit him with. It had been so long since she felt this way. So upset that she could burn the world down with it. So afraid she might kill someone in her frenzy.
"No." His answer is simple, and Kate feels her heart fall with a thud. She recalls the feel of his hands on her wrists, his words mocking and laughing when she tries to get away. He was detained before he could seriously hurt her, but she remembers.
Yelena appears, a full shot glass in both hands, her face stone cold and murderous. "Who the fuck are you?"

Giving Love A Chance
Director Krennic x reader
Note: I’m putting one of my canine chimeras in here(Calcipher, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel)
Warning: Infidelity and abandonment of responsibilities
Rosalie was known to be the daughter of a well respected lieutenant commander of the Galactic Empire. At first, everyone steered clear of her because she was known to have a little bite to her personality if you were to ever cross her. She may gotten that from her father. This trait had somehow attracted the Director of Advanced Weapons of Research.
Krennic was introduced to Rosalie, who happen to be not only the new recruit to the galactic empire, but she was known to be the goddaughter of Governor Tarkin, who raised her after her fathers’ untimely demise. Her mother died after she was born, and her father was left to raise her up to the age of five. Ever since, then she had been in the governors’care. He and the lieutenant commander go way back, and he appointed him to be the legal guardian of his daughter, if anything were to happen to him.
Almost immediately, when Krennic got a glimpse of her as she was being introduced to the rest of the crew, he was taken by surprise at the sight of her. As she approached him, she said, “Would you like to paint a portrait, Director? I’m pretty sure it will last longer if you like what you see.” Most of the crew were heard snickering at her comment, including, Tarkin. “Now now, Rosalie. Play nicely.” Tarkin said in a gentle way to his goddaughter, as she looked at him at the corner of her eye. “My apologies, Governor.”
The comment snapped the Director out of his thoughts and he looked at the Governer and said, “You never mentioned about having a goddaughter.” “That’s because you never asked me.” He replied, as he walked away with his goddaughter to introduce her to rest of the crew. “I gotta get to know this woman.” The Director thought as he walked down the hallway to fill the rest of his duties for the day.
Later that night…
Rosalie was just settling in to a new quarters, and she was laying down new fresh linens on her bed when there was a knock at her door. She walked over to the side of her bed and opened her datapad which happen to have a camera outside of her living quarters. “Is there something you need, Director?” She asked as she picked up the datapad and sat down on her bed and looked at the screen.“I would like to speak with you if that’s not a bother.” He said as he stood in the front door. Rosalie put down her datapad and looked that her faithful, and most trusted companion, Calcipher.
“Why don’t you go on and do your rounds? I’ll be fine.” Calcipher hopped up and walked out of the room and out the front doors as they swooshed open to let the Director in. As soon as the dog disappeared down the hallway, he looked back in the living quarters with Rosalie stood in front of him with her arms crossed. “I hope I’m not interrupting anything…” He said as he walked in. “No, you weren’t interrupting anything, so I have nothing else to do then to sleep until the next morning.” She said as she walked away to the counter to get a drink of water from her kitchen. As she was doing this, the Director said, “I hope you will settle in with us just fine.” She turned around and gave him a look and asked, “why do you say that?”
He replied, “I noticed that you had a little bit of a sassiness to your behavior earlier today, as I was being introduced to you along with the rest of the crew.” Rosalie rolled her eyes and set the glass of water down on the counter, and said to him, “I do apologize for that. I’m just going through a rough patch right now.” Krennic was taken aback at this. “Did something happen on your homeworld? “He asked. “I just finalized my divorce with my now ex-husband, Thatcher, who I was married to for seven years. I’m so glad we do not have children together because it would’ve been more complicated, which I consider a blessing in disguise.”
“Irreconcilable differences?” He asked. “He cheated on me… With my best friend and got her pregnant.” Krennic’s eyes grew wide as soon as she said that. “Oh dear. That must’ve hurt.” he said. “Oh, don’t worry, I’m fertile. I can have children, I would’ve dealt with it as long as he took care of his responsibilities. I forgave him for cheating and getting her pregnant, but what he did make my blood boil.” She said as she squeezed her hands and balled them up into a fist. When the directors saw this, he stood back and asked, “He left you?”
She looked at him and said, “Oh no, he didn’t want to leave me, neither did he wanted me to leave him…” He braced himself. “He had the audacity to relinquish his rights to the child as a parent.” Krennic raised eyebrows in disgust. “I couldn’t believe he did that, having my now former best friend raise her child by herself. Of course, she did apologize and I forgave her too, but I said it would be better if we parted ways because I couldn’t trust her. She completely understood.”
“How did your godfather take this when you told him?” Krennic asked her. “Oh! He was furious! As soon as I told him, he told me to pack up my things and he would come get me, which is why I am here.” He never thought he would do this, but he actually walked toward Rosalie, placed his hand on top of hers and gave it a squeeze. he looked at her and said, “I’m sorry that this happened to you. He does not deserve you. You deserve so much better.”
Rosalie looked at the Director and asked him, “Were you ever cheated on?“ He looked at her and said, “I never had the time to date anyone, so my life is very busy.…” She looked down and took the glass of water to take a sip. “But I am willing to give it a chance, that is if you are willing to.“ This made her nearly choke and spat out the water she was drinking as look at Krennic with wide eyes. “But until then, I will give you time to fully recuperate before you could start dating again.”
“I was just about to say that!“ She said as she began to laugh. He was surprised that he found himself laughing with her. “You’re right, it’s best if we wait before I start dating again because I need time to deal with my ex trying to get me back, because as soon as I left, he began to call nonstop.” Krennic looked and said, “Do you want me to scare him?” “No, I have Calcipher to deal with him.” Krennic looked at Rosalie with the confused expression. She said, “I forgot to mention to you that Calcipher is not what you see in that small form of his.…” before she could finish, Krennic said, “He’s a Chimera, I know. Tarkin told me.” Her eyes grew wide at his comment. “You knew?“ She asked, and he replied, “Oh course. I’ve been knew. And it’s no wonder why you have a little bite to your personality as I was told.” She burst out laughing, along with him.
“I’ll tell you what: I will let you know that I’ll be ready as soon as I get myself together. And I will have to inform my godfather about this, and see what he says.” He nodded in agreement, bid each other good night and left the her quarters with a smile on his face. Looking forward to give this new chapter in his life a chance that he would experience.
(For the record, Tarkin did let them date. Just as long as he treated her well and not be the same way her ex did her🤣🤣.)
Hope you guys enjoy the story. Like comment and have a blessed day. 😊

Unwanted
Read on AO3
Warning for Heavy abuse, trauma, self harm, and unreality.
Wyrren sat bolt upright, breathing erratic as the nightmare slowly faded. He could feel Maerēns faintly in the back of his mind, like a silent question nagging at him. Asking if he was alright. he wasn't, but he wouldn't call Maerēns back from patrol because of it. The added awareness was a greater comfort then the spectrals voice would be. Especially if he planned on ever going back to sleep. He bristled. Something moving in the darkness, a small sound that snapped his attention towards it.
"Little Stone? are you alright?"
Wyrren let out a short breath as he realized. Calcipher. Calcipher was here. He sat on the corner of the bed across the room, looking at him with concern. he clearly hadn't been sleeping, as the blankets remained almost completely undisturbed. How had he forgotten?
He swallowed, shaking his head as he tried to push down feelings that stirred about in his stomach. "No... No, and I probably won't be for a very long time."
Calcipher made a gesture. it was an invitation, but also a question. 'why?'  Wyrren wasn't sure he wanted to answer, but he started to anyway.
"Do you know what I felt Calcipher? When Arcon spoke to me about his prized creation? Looking at that grey render. Listening to Arcon sing it's praises. Underneath the fear, and the horror, and the disgust, do you know what I felt?"
Calcipher said nothing. Didn't move. Didn't make a sound. Just sat, and listened. Wyrren looked down at his hands, uncomfortable with his thoughts.
"I felt anger. And I felt jealousy. Because this thing had taken my place, and I wanted it back."
The words came out harder then intended, and it gave him pause. He needed to move, needed to do something other then sit on this bed. Wyrren stood, starting to pace the length of the small room, until he came to the window and stopped. He stared out it unseeing. His mind back in the compound. Back with Arcon.
"I wanted to be the favorite. I wanted his praise and I wanted his approval." He moved restlessly as he spoke, hands grabbing and tugging at his skin. "I know, rationally, I know I would never have it. That to get it, I would have to tear myself apart, destroyed myself, slowly, painfully. Piece by agonizing piece, until what I was was completely gone. Until I couldn't recognize myself at all.  Nothing but a quiet, obedient little slave. perfect for Arcon to do with as he pleased."
He felt Calciphers hand brush against his back. It was a gentle attempt to stop him, but he didn't let it. he kept going. he felt a lump forming in his throat, but he kept going. "It wouldn't have been enough. I know that. I know that, because for everything Arcon did to me, every way he tried to shatter what will I had left, the only reason he didn't just use me up and throw me out like the others was that little defiant streak. My need to help people. My need to fight."
He turned back to Calcipher. he was staring now with a look that might have been horror, or might have been pity. Wyrren couldn't tell, and didn't hold his gaze long enough to find out. Either way, those eyes were full of a sadness he didn't want to see. He wasn't holding together well, and his friend knew it.
"I couldn't fight him. I couldn't, but I tried. I tried so many times, but there were so many consequences." Wyrren grit his teeth. Phantom pain shooting through his arm, as if out of spite. "Sometimes it was just pain. That constant reminder that I. Belonged. To him. And he would make me suffer if I didn't do as I was told. Other times it would be something more creative. Days without rest, maybe. Kept awake by something in my blood, or subject to one of his more taxing experiments, but the worst days... The worst days were when he would take my mind from me and use me like a puppet. I could never fight it, never break through that awful haze that came and took away every last bit of control I had left. He would force my body to do whatever he wanted, and all I could do was watch!"
He was yelling. He couldn't help it. He couldn't help that he was crying either. "I could feel every movement I made, hear every sound around me, and I could do nothing to stop it! And when it faded? and I had control again? I would only start the cycle over! Again, and again! And he loved it! Oh, how he loved it! the fact that I fought him! as much often as I could! And every time I did something wrong, every time I failed - because of course I did! How could I not? -  there he was! To watch me struggle! Fighting to get back up, and hurt myself more! Over, and over, and over! And if the pain I caused myself wasn't enough, he would add a little bit more himself, just to be sure! Because I could do nothing."
Wyrren's voice fell, his words coming out quieter. his back was up against the wall now as he slowly slid towards the floor. He still didn't stop, or tried not too. He had to fight through sobs that threatened to claw their way from his chest.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could just barely see Calcipher shift towards him. A fuzzy white shape, stark against the tear-blurred darkness of the room.
"there's still that part of me that wants it, you know. even with Arcon gone, there's still a part of me that's all too willing to tear myself apart, just for one sliver of that mans approval. Every little bit of praise he ever gave me, no matter how small, no matter how backhanded it was, always felt like the world had been given to me for how rare it was. And I wanted it so much. I still do. I don't want to feel this. I don't want to know what lengths I'd go to. Just for him, just for one more word of approval. Every time I think about it, every time I remember, I feel shame, and disgust, and disappointment. It's what stopped me from fighting him. It's what stopped me from letting Arcon die when I should have. if I hadn't... if you weren't there or... or... I would've..."
His words cut off then. He triad to say more, but all that came out was a watery, choking noise as he finally lost hold. He let his body slide to the floor, head in his hands as all his emotions tried to burst out at once. He didn't look up when he heard movement towards him. didn't look over when he felt Calcipher next to him to wrap an arm around his shoulder, gently pulling Wyrren closer until his head was leaning against the tiefling's chest.
That was the last straw. All he need to finally break, to finally give in. For the first time in so long he cried, ugly and unrestrained. he couldn't speak through the sobs. couldn't control his hands well enough to sign as they desperately clutched at anything they could hold. his throat hurt, each breath coming out with a scream. Loud, and full of old pain that was only muffle when he buried his face into Calcipher's chest. he didn't stop himself, and neither did Calcipher. He let him be, a clawed hand gently running through Wyrren's hair as he pulled him further into his lap.
They stayed that way for longer then Wyrren would ever care to admit, with Calcipher holding him carefully, like he would shatter into a million pieces if he wasn't careful while he cried, as hard as his body would allow. Through it all, he was thankful that no one else was home. no one but Draven, and he had no right to say anything. no right to judge him for this.
Eventually it slowed, becoming calmer, and calmer until finally he had some control over his voice again. He took a moment to look around the room as he tried to calm himself more. It was almost empty. He'd wanted Calcipher to have a say in what they kept in it, so he hadn't put anything more then the beds and a small bookshelf. Neither of them had much to put on it yet. Neither of them had much at all. With this, he'd wanted to have something for them to share. He didn't want to lose that.
Wyrren took a deep, shuddering breath. His legs curling into his chest as he tried to speak again. He needed to say it out loud, needed someone to know. He felt Calcipher shift underneath him as he spoke again.
"Ever since they took me away from Arcon, nothing has felt real." The first words came out like a croak, his voice cracking on every other word. He pushed on before Calcipher could stop him. "I keep thinking, expecting, that sooner or later I'm going to wake up, and find out the last year or so has just been a dream. That all this has just been a cruel trick of my mind, or some fever induced fantasy from whatever Arcon did to me. I'll wake up, exhausted, and hurt, in that room like every time before. Unable to speak, unable to scream. Completely incapable of making and sound at all, and I'll be helpless. And there'll be nothing I can do."
He took a few more shuddering breaths, trying to keep his voice from breaking. His words came out as barely more then a whisper, but in the silence, he might as well have been yelling again.
"I'm afraid, Calcipher. I'm afraid, constantly. if that happens, I won't be able to take it. I won't. I'll break."
There was a pause, before finally Calcipher spoke. his voice was quiet as he pulled Wyrren closer. holding him so protectively, it seemed as if he was afraid that if he didn't, Wyrren would vanish into nothing. Wyrren wasn't sure he wouldn't.
"if the day comes where you find yourself waking up in that old room again, I'll be there Little Stone... I'll always be there to help you pick up the pieces"
Wyrren nodded, unable to say more. His mind slowly succumbed to exhaustion as he felt Calcipher pick him up, moving them both to one of the beds.
As he drifted off he heard Calcipher whisper "I'll always be there if you need me."
For now, it would have to be enough.

Note – there is Stockholm syndrome in here. Just to let you know.
And I will put two of my canine Chimeras in here, Bagheera and Calcipher.
Warning: Mention Of Attempted Sexual Assault
It all started with a walk in the marketplace until you were attacked by one of your fathers’ trusted royal council members, for your father was ruler of Coruscant. You thought your life would end there until a Sith saved your life and nursed you back to health, and a bond began to form between the two of you.
You don’t know how long it has been since you were attacked by one of the council members in your fathers court, Jaron, who was infatuated with you, but you rejected his advances. And then, out of nowhere, you were saved by the unknown figure, dressed in black. The last thing you saw before you lost conscious were a pair of eyes like fire, staring back at you as you felt yourself being lifted up off the ground. It could’ve been hours or days since then. When you opened your eyes, the first thing you noticed was that everything was dark, with the exception of blue luminescent light over you.
As you sat up, you’ve felt a jolt of sharp pain on your left side and you hissed as you felt that uncomfortable feeling where the pain was coming from. You looked down and saw that your sides were bandaged and looked to your right and saw that your clothes were cleaned and folded up in a chair. You called out for Bagheera, your trusted and faithful companion, who is a Chimera, a creature that can transform into a bigger counter-part of itself, which has antlers and a stinger. Bagheera popped up his head over the bed frame, looking into your direction. “Bagheera, I’m so glad to see you.” You said as you try to reach over to pet him, completely forgetting that your left side was still hurting. Then a voice spoke to you out of nowhere, “Careful my Lady, you have broken ribs.”
You immediately looked around and saw no one. But as soon as you turned to your left, in a dark corner, you saw the same pair of eyes staring at you from before you lost conscious. You were scared out of your wits, but you know those eyes belonged to a Sith. The figure reached his gloved hand out to you and said, “Be still, I will not hurt you.”
“Who are you and why did you bring me here?” you asked, still frightened. The figure replied, “You don’t remember what happened two days ago? You were attacked and I fended him off.” “Two days ago?!? That’s how long I’ve been unconscious?” You thought. Then you asked him, “Where am I?”
Again, he replied, “You’re in my shuttle, which has an invisible cloak on it, so no one is able to see where we are or track us.” Again, you try to sit up, but it was too painful for you to move. You started hissing at the feeling, and that’s when the figure got up from where he was and revealed himself to you in the light. Not once you thought you’d never meet a Zabrak up close before, so this was the first time you’ve seen one personally. This Zabrak was all red with black tattoos all over his face, not to mention all over his body. And horns that were grown around his head. And you must admit, he was very scary looking, but for some reason, he spoke to you very gently. “I assume you know who I am.” he said to you as he approached.
You couldn’t say anything because you were too scared, so the only thing you able to muster out in a whisper, “You are Darth Maul, the Emperor Palpatine’s apprentice. I won’t say anything, I’ll just tell my folks I haven’t seen you.” You pleaded as you tried to scoot up on the bed he laid you in, but again, the pain was excruciating. As you did so, he placed his hand over yours and said, “You need to be still, you don’t want to rip open your bandages.” he said cautiously .
When you stopped moving, you looked over and saw there was a table, where it had a tray of food that looked as if it were just made. And almost immediately, that’s when you heard your stomach growl. The Zabrak Sith raised his right hand up and the tray levitated towards him, and said as he handed it to you, “I knew that once you woke up, you would be hungry.” You took the tray of food and thanked him and you nervously ate your meal.“Don’t eat too fast, I don’t want you to choke.” He said as he watched you take a bite of your food. You looked up at him and nodded.
As soon as you were done with your meal, he took the tray and placed it to the side and turned back at you and asked, “Did you know the person who attacked you earlier?” You looked at Maul and replied, “Yes. His name is Jaron and he is one of my father’s council members in my home. He had been chasing after me ever since I was maturing from adolescence.” You said with a taste of bitter disgust in your mouth.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen once I return back there, but luckily, one of my sisters, has the ability to know if you’re lying with one touch of her hands.” You said as he looked at Maul. Then he asked, “Is your father aware of the situation? Have you told him?” You shook your head and said, “I don’t know if he will believe me, but once I get back home, I will have to tell him what happened. For Jaron will do whatever it takes to make sure I keep my mouth shut. but I’m determined to not be silenced ”
Darth Maul looked at you and asked, “Do you want me to go with you? I don’t fear your father, even though he is ruler, and he could easily have my head, I will stand by your side.” You were shocked hearing this from a Sith, then he looked over at Bagheera and asked him, “What do you think?” Bagheera barked in agreement.
You stayed with Darth Maul for another two days. During those two days, you begin to fall in love with him, even though it was short notice. You two got to know each other much better during your stay there until it was time for you to return home. You both rode on Bagheera as you approach the gate. Upon seeing you, the guards called out for the gates to open and let you in. As soon as you two entered, some of the citizens were shocked to see that a Sith was right behind you, as you approached the courtyard of your home. Your father, your mother and your sisters ran out to greet you, but then stopped when they spotted Darth Maul.
As he dismounted Bagheera, your father shouted out to him, “What have you done to my daughter? Why is she bandaged up?” You calmly said to your father, “Father, it wasn’t Darth Maul who did this to me, but one of your trusted councilmen that stands over yonder”. You pointed at Jaron and everyone stared at him. Darth Maul helped you dismount. Bagheera lowered himself down for Darth Maul to help you dismount him, carried you bridal-style to the medics and said to them, “Be careful with her, she has broken ribs.”
Your father walked up to Jaron with the look of anger on his face as he whipped out his light saber, for he was force-sensitive. Jaron lifted up his hands, as he begged, “My Lord, I don’t know what she’s talking about! I swear! That Sith has brainwashed her! He’s trying to turn her against you,and everyone that she cares about! To make her his apprentice…” “SILENCE !!” Your father commanded as he called your younger sister to him. “Let’s see who is lying and who is truthful.” He said, addressing to his younger daughter, whom you told Darth Maul about.
Your sister immediately grabbed his head with her hands, and as she was doing so, some light came out of her hands. It wasn’t hurting him, but he was resisting her. Within five seconds, she released him and looked at her father and said, “It’s true, he attacked my sister.” Everyone in the courtyard gasped in shock. Almost immediately your father called the guards, “Have this man be thrown into the cells down below until his trial date!” he commanded, and they obeyed. They picked up Jaron and dragged him away to the lower levels of the palace. As this was happening, Darth Maul addressed to the king, “It seems that my work here is done, I will take my leave. You don’t need to give me a reward.” The king looked toward the Sith, and replied, “I thank you for bringing my daughter home safely and tending to her.” Darth Maul bowed his head and walked out of the courtyard and back to his shuttle.
Night fell, everyone in the palace began to settle down into the rooms to rest for another day. As soon as the maid tended to you and left the room, you looked out the window and you thought to yourself, “If only I told him how I felt.” as you thought this, your other Chimera, Calcipher, walked right in with a rolled up scroll tied to his collar. He hopped onto your bed and gave it to you. “What is this?“ You asked as you took the scroll and unrolled it, and it read–
My lady,
I don’t know how many times I wanted to tell you this during your stay as I was tending to your injuries. During our time we were getting to know each other, I began to grow feelings for you. I know deep down that you feel the same way. I do hope that you are willing to give us a chance.
I will let you rest and think it over. I will be waiting for you, if you choose to respond.
Sincerely,
Darth Maul
You held the note to your heart as soon as you read what it said. Then, at the corner of your eye, you noticed movement. You did your best to lean further to the window as you looked down toward the trees. There behind one of them, you saw Darth Maul looking up at you.
You waved at him and he smiled at you as he saw that you got his note. You smiled back at him and and you put up the ‘one moment’ gesture with your hand as you left your bed, remembering that you had to move slowly because your sides were still hurting a bit.
At first, he was confused, but then he saw Calcipher actually walking on the wall outside your window, and witnessed him changing into his Chimera form. Then, he saw you crawling out of the window, climbed on top of Calcipher’s back and carried you all the way down to ground level, doing your best not to make a noise and did not want to alert the guards or you parents.
You dismount Calcipher and walk toward Maul and the two of you hugged each other with him being careful not to squeeze you too hard. And that’s when he bent down and kissed you. As you two pulled away, you said to him, “Yes, I want to give us a chance.”
Deep down, he was ecstatic to hear your response that he wanted to jump for joy, but he kept his composure and kissed you again. So before he could say anything, you said to him, “I overheard my father talking about you, and he considered making you my bodyguard. He plans on sending for you tomorrow. We have to keep our relationship secret.”
Darth Maul replied, “And that’s what we’re going to do until then.” You smiled at him as you embraced each other in another hug. You didn’t want to let go of him, but you had to, for you didn’t want to risk either of you getting caught together. You run and get back on Calcipher’s back, and he carried you back to your room through the window and shrunk back to his dog form. You looked down the window and waved at him, and he waved back and disappeared into the trees.
Throughout the whole night, you knew that you couldn’t wait to see him again and looking forward to what the future holds for you both.
